MACV-SOG Display unveiling
The 5th Group Hall of Heroes MACV-SOG Display will be unveiled on Friday, September 23 at 1500 during the “Old and New Mixer” as part of the 5th SFG(A) 61st Reunion week. The private viewing for SOA members and SOG veterans will be at 1100 hours.
The SOA encourages members who can attend to join us in celebrating this SOA Legacy project, paid for by the donations of our members. Suggested attire is blazer with tie and Beret. You can purchase a SOA Tie at the Quartermaster Store
This year’s Reunion/Legion Week will highlight the 61st activation date of 5th Special Forces Group (‘The Legion’) on 21 September 1961. There will be the traditional events associated with 5th Group Reunions – Prayer Breakfast, Golf Scramble, Reunion Dinner, etc. There will be the traditional Day Trips and have added a trip to the Oak Grove Gaming Center which features slots and weekday horse racing. They will try to have a 1/2 day catfishing trip on the Cumberland River weather permitting.
