OPERATION BRIGHTLIGHT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

The Operation Brightlight (BL) mission is to provide financial assistance to SOA members in good standing who, without monetary help, would not be able to attend the annual Special Operations Association Reunion. Members considered for BL grants are kept anonymous as far as possible, with names being revealed to the BL committee and special staff only.<\/span><\/p>

Costs eligible for assistance are round trip transportation; hotel accommodations; SOAR registration; and, petty cash for cab fare, meals, and incidentals. This assistance may also extend to a family member who is the member\u2019s primary care giver. Some or all of these expenses may be covered depending on individual circumstances. Emergency BL Fund assistance is at the discretion of the BL Chairman.<\/span><\/p>

About the Brightlight Fund<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

When a Recon Team or a downed pilot were in trouble, a SOG Brightlight team was formed and inserted into the target area to find, locate, assist and exfiltrate them from the area of operation. It was by far, the most hazardous of all duty in SOG.<\/span><\/p>

Since its founding in 2005, the Operation Brightlight committee has assisted 43 SOA members and three family members, thanks to the generosity of the SOA membership in general and the SOA Riders.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
